DBLog Description

DBLog is a logging program for radio amateurs based on a relational database. DBLog is a logging program for radio amateurs based on a relational database. It allows the user to log QSOs and export a range of them in ADIF format.DBLog can read the radio frequency via CAT interface. It includes a CW Keyer based on cwdaemon.Installation:First install and test the data base: the development has been done in PostegreSQL,but MySQL and SQLite should work as well as they are supported by Gambas.I did use the instruction "EXEC" instead of "FIND" but the SQL command I used are quite standard and should work also with MySQL and SQLite. It is a point to check.Create the users, give them the right authorisation etc.Create the tables of the database "LOG", or other name if you like, using the instructions in the subdir LOG.Make sure that cwdaemon starts correctly without giving errors. Eventually odify /etc/defaults/cwdaemon . In my case I use the device ttyS0 and priority -3.Run gambas, load DBLog and run it. Connect to the database with the right user name and password and enjoy it.In RUN mode the qso start time (time_on) is updated when the call in entered. In S&P mode it takes to decide when the time starts clicking on "Start QSO". If you forget it the start time will be the one of logging. In the SQL Request window you can give any kind of SQL command: search for someting, modify a record or delete what you want. Keep the SQL manual at hand !!!ADIF export function remembers the number of the last exported qso. In any case you can change the range to export.Possible problem: Modify DataStyle subroutine if you don't like DMY date style.Note: The CAT interface is done for an IC-706 MKIIG. For a different radio modify the commands and serial parameters. What's New in This Release:· This release is especially for developers of other HAM radio applications such as programs for digimodes, EME, or Meteorscatter.· It now works also as 'Log server': another program can send commands to DBLog via TCP on port 3164 to fill fields and to log QSOs.· DBLog replies with 'Name' and 'QTH' if the call has been worked before.
