GoldOS Description

Online AJAX Desktop GoldOS is an online desktop operating system that hopes to solve the problem of the online desktop in the best possible way. In GoldOS every single application is actually a group of modules compatible with JSAN. Modules are grouped so that you can easily replace the user interface. GoldOS uses POD documentation like JSAN and one of our main design philosophies is to reduce code by reusing code so private functions and utility modules are heavily used.Advantages:- Highly modular design with JSAN. (Currently supports MochiKit).- Applications are designed based on the principles of MVC.- Supports multiple user interfaces for applications: standard HTML, Canvas, some YUI, and hopefully much more later.- Includes a JSLINT debugger and a powerful testing suite (see Test JSAN modules).To get involved rather you are a CSS designer or JavaScript programmer just read some documentation on the homepage which should make it relatively easy to contribute to some part of the project. Requirements: · JavaScript · Perl What's New in This Release: · Added general developer documentation on how to work without JSAN. · Ran a perl script that got all the documentation into a single folder ./pod/ and you can browse all of it · via the ./html/ folder without having to deal with the Perlish documentation system. · Updated meta data for consistency and updated ./lib/ folder by adding more documentation and making the system more consistent in terms of conventions. This is still a work in progress.
