Comic Strips Description

A screenlet that downloads comics. Comic Strips is a screenlet that downloads comics from different websites. You can add or remove from this file, and the changes will be picked up on restart. The url-pattern is based on the C/Python function strftime and the patterns are substituted` before the URL is fetched: %Y 4-digit year %y 2-digit year %m 2-digit month %d 2-digit dayetc. The actual pattern substituted is for yesterday, to allow for time variations around the world. e.g. %Y-%y-%m-%d on 16 July, 2008 becomes 2008-08-07-15The comics in the supplied urls.xml are all referenced from www.gocomics.com. Most of the comic strips are actually on picayune.uclick.com. In order to find the URL pattern for an additional comic, right click on a comic-strip image and save the url. Reverse engineer that to a url-pattern like the above. If you find comics that use a different url pattern structure not manageable by strftime, then the code will need changing to handle the pattern type.About Screenlets:Screenlets is the name of both a set of independently-developed widget applications and the widget engine which runs them. The engine runs primarily on X11-based compositing window managers, most notably the Compiz (under Linux) architecture.Until 0.0.14, screenlets were exclusively scripted in Python and drawn in SVG. Afterward, support was added for web widgets (widgets which are written in HTML, JavaScript and CSS, similar to widgets for Apple Inc.'s Dashboard). Requirements: · Screenlets
