Multi-purpose daemon that listens on an arbitrary TCP port Blingd is an open source multi-purpose daemon that will listen on a high port and when queried will return random bling pickup lines. In addition, Blingd also increases the bling power of your server.Blingd is a simple, non-interactive daemon that will return a plain text messagefrom a 'strfile' data file, when an end user queries the arbitrary TCP port. Once the query has been served, the TCP connection is closed. The TCP port and database file will be configurable by the system administrator.Blingd can be utilized for purely entertainment purposes, and will return random quotes, similar to the 'fortune' command line program, increasing the bling power of the server.In addition, blingd can be used to deliver security and system maintenanceinformation on ports that have services resricted or temporarily offline.
