A Java library that will allow you to be aware of what happens to your files JxFileWatcher is a cross-platform library that will provide developers with a convenient Java API for monitoring file system events. JxFileWatcher is available for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux platforms and supports both 32 and 64-bit versions of these OSs. Here are some key features of "JxFileWatcher": Basic File Operations: · Watch for creation, renaming or removal of files and subfolders within the specified folder. File Access Monitoring: · You will be able to receive notifications about events when access or modification date is changed. Watch Properties Change: · Be notified about any changes to file size and attributes. These are System, Hidden, Read only and Archived attributes for Windows platforms, and Read, Write and Execute attributes for Linux and Mac systems. Support for Different File Systems: · JxFileWatcher supports different file system types and always uses the best algorithm for monitoring file system events in a specified watching directory. Limit Watching Scope: · You can watch for all file events or just for specified by the event and file filters. The files can be watched inside the selected folder only or including all its subfolders. Requirements: · Java 1.5 or later What's New in This Release: · JxFileWatcher 1.0 contains fixing of problems in file and events filtering that were found in EAP version. There are several limitations that will be removed in one of the next versions of JxFileWatcher: · Watcher does not work for a folder that contains more than 10 000 files (Platforms: Mac OS X). · JxFileWatcher does not handle the situation when a watched folder is unmounted at runtime (for example, when you watching for events of a removable (flash) drive). (Platforms: all). · JxFileWatcher does not support hard links (Platforms: Linux).
