TaskForest Description

Simple, powerful task scheduler TaskForest is a simple but expressive job scheduler that allows you to chain jobs/tasks and create time dependencies. Uses text config files to specify task dependencies. Designed for use on a single machine.The TaskForest job scheduler (TF) is a simple but expressive job scheduling system. A job is defined as any executable program that resides on the file system.Jobs can depend on each other. Jobs can also have start times before which a job may not by run. Jobs can be grouped together into "Families". A family has a start time associated with it before which none of its jobs may run. A family of jobs also features a list of days-of-the-week associated with it. Jobs within a family may only run on these days of the week.NOTE: TaskForest is released under the Artistic License. What's New in This Release: · Added support for external dependencies (jobs depending on jobs that are in other families. · Removed the VERSION string from all the .pm files, and moved it to Makefile.PL. Thils will mean less diffs between versions. · Got rid of unused code. · Improved some test cases, to reduce the risk of false test failures. · Fixed a bug where the last entry of a recurring job was sometimes not run. · Modified taskforestd and taskforestdssl to accept the 'chained' option in the config file.
