jBonsai Description

jBonsai is a Java-based Simulator for the BONSAI Register Machine. The BONSAI was originally made by Klaus Merkert.jBonsai provides an interface that makes writing programs, testing an understanding them as easy as possible. It can be used by teachers who present it to the whole class or by single students or groups.The BONSAI is the simplest way to learn how a computer works. It only includes what's really necessary. The program makes it easy to understand every single step of the execution. It helps the user to find erros and to understand the differnt parts of the register machine, like the program counter, the microprogram and so on. jBonsai is a cross-platform utility capable of running on any operating system that comes with Java support (e.g. Mac OS X, Windows, Linux).
