MoinMoin Description

An easy to use, Python based, full-featured and extensible wiki engine for your Mac MoinMoin is a full-featured, easy to use, and extensible wiki software package developed in Python. MoinMoin can fulfill a wide range of roles, such as a personal notes organizer deployed on a laptop or home web server, a company knowledge base deployed on an intranet, or an Internet server open to individuals sharing the same interests, goals or projects. Here are some key features of "MoinMoin": · creates backups of all page revisions (see FullHistory). · Revision history shows only the last 100, all are accessible by editing the url. · page revision list · diffs between arbitrary page versions (available in the "Info" action) · links to diffs, page info and the user home page of the editor · subpages (see HelpOnEditing/SubPages) · I18N (foreign and multi-language) support · Unicode support, standard encoding is utf-8 · lots of help pages (see HelpContents) · RSS feed for RecentChanges · wiki page templates · configurable edit locking/warning to avoid editing conflicts · simple page storage (moin simply stores exactly what you see in the editor into a directory that is named like the page) · copying/deleting/renaming of pages, optionally including subpages · back links by clicking on page title · enhanced search function: title or full text search, multiple search terms, boolean expressions · powerful Xapian based indexed search, including attachments and old revisions · search results may be included into wiki pages via macros · GUI (WYSIWYG) and text (markup) editor (Note that although most browsers are compatible with the GUI editor, Safari currently does not support it.) · (!) large number of macros (see HelpOnMacros) · attachments (see HelpOnActions/AttachFile) · email and jabber notification, with diff included, user selectable trivial change notification (see HelpOnConfiguration/EmailSupport) · email import - you can write email to your wiki pages · WikiSynchronisation - keep wiki content in sync · Caches bytecode-compiled versions of pages to speed up. · Theming (see HelpOnThemes) · underlay directory for storing read-only pages (system and help pages) · access control lists (see HelpOnAccessControlLists) · optional login with username and password · can reuse authentication done by web server (see HelpOnAuthentication) · modular authentication makes it easy to support single-sign-on pluggable Parsers support many different input formats: · Some AntiSpamFeatures and TextChas. · Slideshows, see HelpOnSlideShows. · Twiki draw included, accessable by drawing:some_name. See OliverGraf/TWikiDrawPlugin. · (!) easily extensible, without changing MoinMoin code (see MoinDev/PluginConcept) · (!) written in Python! This means that you can easily read and use the source, even if you don't know Python yet. · actions for top level control (see ActionMarket) · Written in Python (http://www.python.org/), so it runs on: Linux, UNIX, BSD, Mac OS X, Windows, OpenVMS, and maybe even other platforms supported by Python · simple to install · runs with:, standard CGI (Apache, IIS and others) · runs very fast with: WSGI e.g. Apache with mod_wsgi, built-in standalone Python http server, Apache or lighttpd with FastCGI, Apache with mod_python, twisted, Zeus Web Server with FastCGI, Sun Java System Web Server with FastCGI · (!) no need for external stuff like:, diff, rcs, cvs or other, PHP, SQL or other database. What's New in This Release: · MoinMoin requires Python 2.4 now. · MoinMoin is now a WSGI application (based on werkzeug). Please read the new install docs about how to use it, see: http://master19.moinmo.in/InstallDocs · We now offer different sized sets of system/help pages and the default underlay just contains a single page: LanguageSetup. You need to be superuser, visit that page and then install the language packs you like (minimum is the essential set for English). LanguageSetup is the default page_front_page, you need to change that after installing language packs. · New modular group and dict data access, you can use group and dict backend modules to access group and dict data stored anywhere you like. See also the new HelpOnDictionaries and HelpOnGroups pages. · Improved Xapian indexing / search. regex search with Xapian enabled also is based on the xapian index now. · Improved drawing support for twikidraw and anywikidraw see HelpOnDrawings. · Default theme is now modernized · Syntax highlighting is based on the pygments library now, see HelpOnParsers. · Authentication improvements for http_auth, ldap and openid · SlideShow action added · PackagePages creates package file on-the-fly in memory and send it to the client
