A karaoke jukebox for Mac OS X kJams is a nice karaoke tool, a jukebox for Mac OS X. It's just like iTunes, except there's also karaoke lyrics on the screen (or on the TV) that follow along with the song, showing you what to sing next. If you really want to be professional, it can also manage a list of singers and keep track of who is up next! Typically you buy special CDG discs to use for karaoke, which are just like regular CD's except they have graphics in them too, showing you song lyrics. You put the CDG into your mac and play it, or you can "rip" the songs (ie: import them from the CDG onto the mac's hard drive), then you can play them whenever you want even without the CDG.Made for Macintosh OS X! kJams was the first true karaoke (CDG) program made for Mac OS X. It is still the only professional karaoke software for mac. If you need a professional Macintosh solution and you're a KJ running shows, kJams is clearly the very best of what's available.Made with iPod in mind! Want karaoke on your iPod? kJams is for you! Limitations: · Can't export to QuickTime more than 10 songs · Can't add more than 3 songs to a any playlist (except for your library) · Can't rip more than the first 3 songs from a disc What's New in This Release: · fixed the crash when trying to use any applescript (eg: sending a crash report(!) or unzip with stuffit) · no longer get a beep if you rip a song that has no artist info (not that you could do that anyway) · the CDG encoder is back to transitioning pages from top to bottom. only the text sweeping now goes left to right. hmm, i'll have to fix that for right-to-left scripts... eventually there will be a "transition" popup so you can select what type of transition you want · no more "ASSERT(i_songID != SDB_kOrphanID)" oops!! · Producer: no more assert(page_rec.size() · Producer: new kind of template: resource path. eg: "" will load up the picture from the kJams resource folder. note: only the Resources folder is supported, and only .pct files are supported. And there's only one pict in there, and it's kJams.pct. so really only that picture is supported.
