Cdrtfe Description

cdrtfe is an open source application created as a win32 frontend or the well known cdrtools. It’s assembled to help you burn CD, DVD and BD discs with all sorts of data types for all kinds of purposes. Detailing functionality, cdrtfe is able to create audio CDs from popular formats such as Wave and MP3 and rip tracks from CDs. You can also burn video DVDs that contain VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, as well as bootable discs and ISO files. cdrtfe also provides you with the tools needed to erase rewritable discs and displays detailed information about the drives connected to your computer and inserted discs. Using cdrtfe is quite easy. It features an integrated, classic file explorer which allows you to browse the contents of your hard drive and use drag-and-drop actions to add files to the project. As mentioned before cdrtfe is a frontend for cdrtools. Having that in mind and looking at the interface layout, it’s easy to spot that the application is focused on functionality rather than looks. For the novice user, everything you need is in plain site, easily accessible. The application enables you to automatically detect the discs’ writing speed, displays a spacemeter and allows you to abort a burn in case you forget to add something. The ‘Data Disc’, ‘Audio CD’, ‘XCD’, ‘(S) VideoCD’ and ‘Video DVD’ categories all feature quick access for certain options, as well as dedicated windows for advanced settings. These add to functionality and give cdrtfe more versatility and quite the professional feel. cdrtfe allows you to save your projects and application configurations for later use. You can also use shell extensions to send items and folders directly to the application using the context menu. Needless to say, being an open source application, you can customize cdrtfe to meet and exceed any requirements you have when burning data to CD and DVD discs.
