Cities of Earth 3D Screensaver Description

Cities of Earth is a lightweight desktop enhancement utility that can help you animate your screen activity by displaying the name and location of the biggest cities from our planet, seen from a globe view. Once you have installed the application, this tool becomes accessible from the Windows screensaver menu, thus allowing you to set it as the default screensaver and change various settings. The user interface is really simple and offers only a few functions. You can add your own city via the official site of the application and change the map resolution (high or low). Furthermore, you can make the program show FPS, cities information, as well as additional cities. The screensaver locates the cities from the map, and displays the information about their name, country, population statistics, and time. Moreover, the program is able to display the current time. Compared to other similar applications, it’s pretty easy to work with this tool since it bundles only a few configuration settings. On the downside, it still needs some improvements in some areas, such as the possibility to add background music and apply some customizations for the font style and color of the displayed cities. During our testing we have noticed that the program manages to provide accurate images, and no errors showed up during our testing. To sum things up, Cities of Earth is a screensaver that allows users to display the name and location of different cities on a virtual globe easily. Thanks to its overall simplicity, it appeals even to the less experienced users who don’t have to go through special tutorials or configure dedicated parameters to get an idea of this program functions.
