JRecord Description

The JRecord Library is a java library for reading / writing Cobol-Files (including Mainframe files) / Fixed length Flat files (Text / Binary) / Delimited files. It uses a record-layout (Cobol, Xml, Csv) file to describe the file to be read / written. It also has an Editor (to edit files using the record-Layout), a Wizard for creating XML record-layouts from a sample file and a Compare utility (that uses the layout in the compare process). The Editor Can display the file in a Table or One Line Per page. The Layout wizard allows you to create a XML-Layout from a Sample file by pointing and clicking on the Fields in the file. The compare utility does a Field to Field Comparison. This will permit fields to be bypassed or files with different structures to be easily compared. Main features: Read and write files of length based records (both fixed length records and Length field based records). Read and write CSV files. Read and Write Flat Fixed width files (Text and Binary) via either a Xml-Record-Layout or a Cobol Copybook.. Read and write XML files (via StAX parser). Common IO routines across all File Types (XML, CSV, Fixed field Width). Support for various Flat file formats (Fixed, Delimited, Length based Files (i.e. Mainframe VB).
