Astronomy enthusiasts always enjoy all sorts of images from space. Mars 3D Space Tour is a nice tool that brings the fourth planet from the Sun into the spotlight. The program installs as a screensaver and displays a space view of Mars and one of its moons, Phobos. Once launched, you can view a realistic image of the nearby planet. You can also see space sunsets and sunrises in the thin Martian atmosphere. The planet is nearly covered in darkness in the beginning, only to slowly become uncovered as the Sun’s rays move across the surface. Furthermore, as mentioned, you can view one of the two Martian moons: Phobos. The largest and closest of the two natural satellites of this planet has an irregular shape and spins around Mars at a very high speed. As any other screensaver, Mars 3D Space Tour is accessible through the Windows menu. Thus, you can choose the resolution for the video from a drop-down menu or let it use the desktop settings. Furthermore, you may adjust the animation speed and choose a camera. The program can cycle through the available camera angles or you can pick “Phobos flyby” or “Martian orbit”. It’s possible to randomize their sequence by enabling the option from the interface. If you wish, the app may ignore mouse movements.
