Procypher Eraser Pro Description

ProCypher Eraser Pro software application does truly 'delete' your files off your hard drives and all other forms of magnetic storage media including external hard drives and floppy disks by repeatedly wiping your drives magnetic media many times over with algorithms that exceed the United States Department of Defense DOD 5220.22-M specifications for permanently removing data from magnetic storage media (hard drives, floppy disks, etc.). You can be assured that the files and the data they contain that are removed from your computer using ProCypher Eraser Pro can NEVER be recovered by any known means, even the file name is erased beyond recovery. Take ProCypher Eraser Pro for spin to see what it can actually do for you! Main features: Control Console: Start Button - Starts the erase process after first checking that all other inputs are set correctly - will prompt user for verification before starting the erase process. Select Button - Causes the Open File dialog box to pop up allowing the user to select files, folders, or drives to be erased. Reset Button - Resets the application to its original start up configuration. Pause/Resume Button - Pauses the application during the processing routine - will change to a Resume Button once this occurs. If the application is paused you can either resume processing or close the application with the Close Button. Close Button - Closes the application - disabled during processing unless the application has been paused. System Information: System Information Text Box - Displays information about what the application is currently doing. Will also display warnings messages should errors occur. Erase Menu: One or More Files - Selecting this radio button will allow the user to select one or multiple files for erasing. Files in One or More Folders - Selecting this radio button will allow the user to select one or multiple folders for erasing all of the files contained within (optionally including files in subfolders). Free Space on Storage Drives - Selecting this radio button will allow the user to select one or multiple storage drive for erasing all of the free space contained on those drives. The drives can be of any type, including hard drives, floppy drives, network drives, external drives, and more. Options Menu: Use Fast Wipe - Checking this box before processing begins engages the Fast Wipe algorithm during the erasing task. The Fast Wipe algorithm equals the specifications set forth in the U.S. Department of Defense DOD 5220.22-M for wiping files and data off magnetic storage media - while not checking this (unchecking it) allows the normal erasing algorithm to be utilized during the processing routine (which exceeds the aforementioned DOD 5220.22-M specifications). We offer this option due to the fact that the Fast Wipe algorithm runs between 20 percent and 40 percent faster while still ensuring a high level of data wiping (a good idea for wiping large drives without extremely sensitive data on it). This checkbox is available for selection in every Items to Erase category. Erase Hidden Files - This does just what it says, if checked it will allow for hidden files on your system to be included for erasing - normally this doesn't come into consideration too often. Hidden files are usually system files that would not be included in the selection of files, folders, and drives chosen for erasure. To play it safe, do not select this, the Processing Report will indicate if any hidden files were encountered and not erased - giving you the option to go back and erase those files. This checkbox is available for selection when 'One or More Files' or 'Files in One or More Folders' is chosen. Erase Files in Subfolders - This option, if selected, will erase the files in folders you selected in the Open File dialog box PLUS all of the files in the subdirectories. Not checking this option will ONLY erase files in the directories (folders) selected and leave files in the subdirectories in tact. This checkbox is available for selection only when the 'Files in One or More Folders' is chosen.
