SIOX Description

The name SIOX stands for Simple Interactive Object Extraction and is a solution for extracting foreground from still images with little user interaction. The underlying method is fast, noise robust, and can also be used for segmentation of videos. SIOX is free (Apache License) and is currently being integrated into GIMP, Inkscape, and other image and video manipualtion software. SIOX originates from E-Chalk where an instructor standing in front of an electronic chalkboard is segmented. Variants of SIOX are being used for robotic vision and for improving 3D time-of-flight camera segmentation. Requirements: · GIMP 2.2 or higher
