i.Hex Description

i.Hex is a lightweight application which allows you to modify the hexadecimal code of a file. It comes packed with limited features and can be easily figured out. The interface of the program resembles the one of a simple word processing tool (such as Notepad), so you shouldn't have any problems regarding navigation. Loading a file into the working environment can be done by using either the file browser or "drag and drop" method. So, you can select any position in the code or directly write its offset value in order to modify it. Plus, you can write a new file size or compare it with the one of another file, as well as copy the code in hexadecimal or binary mode. Furthermore, it is possible to select the entire code and to use a search function, combine multiple files, fill a file with random bytes, as well as switch to a different language for the interface. i.Hex is not a concern to the computer's performance, as it runs on a very low quantity of CPU and system memory; so, it doesn't interfere with the runtime of other currently active processes. It is very responsive to keyboard commands and mouse events, includes user documentation and supports keyboard shortcuts. We have not come across any issues throughout our testing; i.Hex did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. Unfortunately, the app has not been updated for a while.
