Awesome Animator is a program which comes bundled with some essential tools for seamlessly creating 2D animations in Flash. The app is wrapped in a familiar interface where you can start a new project by specifying animation properties in regard to the document title, size, frames per second and background color, as well as target (Flash Player and ActionScript version). So, you can use some standard animation tools, such as select, animate, move points, toggle magnetism and pin objects, as well as graphic editing tools, like rectangle, ellipse, sphere, pen, pencil and brush. Objects can be grouped together as movie clips or buttons. Plus, you can insert sound, create morphs, tweens, smooth or sharp transitions, combine shapes as a single one, zoom in and out, enable fast editing mode, as well as bring layers to the front or send them to the back. But you may also toggle between the dynamic shadow and reflection mode for the window appearance, apply filters (e.g. black and white, drop shadow), create a tune on a synthesizer, as well as transform objects (e.g. rotate, flip), among others. The comprehensive animation program runs on a moderate quantity of CPU and system memory, is pretty responsive to key strokes and mouse events, and includes user documentation. We have not found any issues during our evaluation; Awesome Animator did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. However, users should have some experience with similar software, in order to use this app. No recent updates have been made to Awesome Animator.
