Editor's review: With its invention in the year of 1974 by the name of Magic Cube, Rubix cube came in commercial use soon after being licensed by a person named Rubik and became one of the most popular 3D mechanical puzzle in use so far. The cube has 6 faces with 54 stickers divided into sets of 9 uni-colored stickers which are organized in such a manner as every batch of 9 stickers of same color can be arranged on each face. The puzzle is good for leisure time entertainment and due to its popularity, we have seen a number of Rubix cube championships and fastest solving records. For playing Rubik’s cube puzzle on computer, you have simple application Rubix Cube 3D v.1. Rubix Cube 3D is a freeware online flash game based on classic Rubix Cube Puzzle. The interface of the game is coupled with 3D graphics and the number of moves shown on the bottom of the screen. When you initialize the game, the application asks you to enter your user id to post your score with reference to your id in the hall of fame. On the upper right hand corner of the game play screen, you can find a menu for new game, high scores, shuffle and quit. On starting the game, you will find the fully arranged cube in front of you which you can shuffle on the single click of the required button with the four levels of difficulty. On the first thought, it may seem a bit complicated to imagine a Rubix cube solving on a computer, but the game has been designed intelligently, thus letting the user concentrate on the logic of the puzzle rather than the hassles of turning over the cube on a 2D screen. Overall, Rubix Cube 3D v.1 is a nice puzzle game simulating the actual puzzle cube in a facilitated environment. Hence, it receives a score of three-and-a-half rating points on the scale of five.
