Shalom Txt Description

Shalom Txt is a text editor, whose purpose is to help the user edit flat text files, without requesting the user to format. The program is a straightforwar editor that includes standard functions, such as printing, print preview, popup menu, toolbar. Main features: Tools for manipulating strings Information about the current file (word count, character count, paragraph count, average word length etc) Multi document interface using tabs A symbol appears on the document tab if a file is modified Command line arguments Status bar showing Insert/Overwrite, cursor position, file size and number of selected characters Ability to save or close all opened files with one click Customization of font (size, color, style) and background color Choose what shortcut to exit the program with (Esc or Alt+X) The Tools menu gives access to these string manipulating tools: Add To Each Line - Use this to add text to the start or the beginning of the selected lines. Fix Line Breaks - Changes all line breaks to standard window line breaks (for text from Unix environment). Frame Lines - Puts a frame (made with a character) around the selected lines. Remove Characters From Each Line - Use this to remove a certain number of characters from the start or the beginning of the selected lines. Remove Blank Lines - Removes empty lines. Remove From Each Line - Use this to remove text from the start or the beginning of the selected lines. Sort Lines - Sorts lines alphabetically. Trim Lines - Removes spaces from the start and end of each selected line. Unbreak Lines - Unbreaks lines, i.e., connects lines that aren't followed by an empty line.
