Aghanux is an open source and freely distributed Linux kernel-based operating system created from the scratch using Debian Wheezy’s deboostrap process. It is aimed at new Linux users who want to understand how a Linux operating system works and to help them create their own customized distribution. It’s distributed in two flavors, with and without a display server The Aghanux Linux distribution is primary available for download as an ISO image called Console and designed without a graphical desktop environment. In addition, an ISO image called Console+D contains a built-in window manager is also available for download. Supports installation only on 64-bit machines Both ISO images of Aghanux must be installed on a local drive before they can be used. Currently it supports installation only on 64-bit machines. Both graphical and text-mode installers are available on the boot menu. It is easy to install using the graphical installer Whether you’re a new or experienced Linux user, we strongly recommend to use the graphical installer to install the Aghanux operating system on your computer. It will only ask you to choose the language to be used for the installation process, select a location for the timezone, choose a keyboard layout, configure the network, set up users and passwords, configure the clock, partition the disk and install a bootloader. Uses the GNUX windows manager The distribution’s default graphical desktop environment is powered by the minimal and ultra fast GNUX window manager, which comprises of a taskbar that allows the user to quickly navigate between virtual workspaces and interact with running programs, and a system monitoring widget. Includes a handful of graphical applications Aghanux is a minimalist distribution of Linux that includes a handful of graphical applications, such as a file manager, Internet browser, office suite, image editor, text editor, calculator, music player and CD/DVD image burner.
