Porteus+ Description

Porteus+ is an open source Linux operating system based and forked from the original Porteus Linux KDE Edition, and upgraded with complete package versions taken from the Slackware Linux Current branch, as well as additional software modules. In other worlds, Porteus+ is a mix between Slackware Current and Porteus KDE, which is an open source operating system based on heavily modified versions of the Linux Live Scripts, offering much faster startup and shutdown processes. Unfortunately, Porteus+ is not distributed as an ISO image, for your to write on a USB stick and boot from it. Instead, the developers provided only the sources, which can be booted directly from the network or installed on top of an existing Porteus KDE install.
