Linux Educational Description

Linux Educational is an open source and 100% free Linux distribution of the Federal Government in Brazil, designed to offer the best computing environment in schools and other educational institutions. Using only free/open source software, Linux Educational leverages the use of educational technologies, ensuring improvement of education, technology insertion, and sociability. It is based on the world’s most popular free operating system, Ubuntu Linux, and uses the powerful GNOME desktop environment. Linux Educational was developed by the Centre for Scientific Computing and Free Software (C3SL) of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), with technical support from the Center for Educational Technologies.
